Along with millions of others around the world, the Beech Grove Public Library marked the King of Rock N Roll’s 75th birthday with a birthday bash of their own! The celebration took place Friday January 89th, 2010, which is the anniversary of Elvis Presley’s birthday.
Plenty of food was served including some of Elvis’ favorites such as deviled eggs with bacon and grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches.
Guests attempted to Karaoke their favorite Elvis songs like Hound Dog and Jail House Rock. They also danced to his slower tunes like The Hawaiian Wedding Song while his live performances videos played on the big screen in the background. There was plenty of trivia exchanged as well as a game of Name Those Movies, as the guests tried to name all 33 of Elvis’ major motion pictures!
The highlight of the evening was a surprise visit from Elvis himself along with “Little Elvis”! Elvis wore his gold Lame suit and sang All Shook Up to the delight of his rapt audience. His leg was jiggling and his lip was trembling, and he showed off a few of his karate moves with Little Elvis, too!
Rockin’ fun was had by all. Happy Birthday Elvis!
